In May of 2022 Hannah Friesen made her North American professional debut in an outstanding performance playing Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro with Opera Delaware, directed by Dean Anthony and conducted by Anthony Barrese. An exciting summer of international performances included European debuts as Gilda in Rigoletto with L'Accademia Nazionale Di Belcanto Italiano and Servilia in La clemenza di Tito with Mozart Opera Studio Vienna directed by  Elizabeth De Trejo and Conducted by Jörg Birhance.

During her European season, Hannah studied with world renowned Mexican tenor Francisco Araiza at the European Music Institute in Vienna, Austria. She continued her training with International School of Voice, co-director and opera career coach Mauricio Trejo in Verona, Italy.

While in Europe, Hannah continued language studies in German with the Goethe institute, and Italian language with InClasse of  Verona.

In fall  of 2022, Friesen returned to New York City after the pandemic promoted a two year temporary residency in Philadelphia where she was a primary cantor for St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Manayunk, PA.

In NYC, Friesen continues to study with International School of  the Voice Director, Elizabeth De Trejo, focusing on the historic Italian bel canto vocal technique. She also  serves as Soprano section leader and soloist for Secondary Presbyterian Church, Central Park West.

In January of 2023, Friesen was selected to compete in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, where she won the Audience Choice Award at the Iowa district.

Summer of 2023, Friesen will be returning to Europe to perform the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with the Mozart Opera Studio at the European Music Institute of Vienna.
